Les crit\u00e8res ont donc d\u00fb \u00eatre nombreux pour permettre d&rsquo;identifier les diff\u00e9rences entre les voitures. Un des crit\u00e8res, et pas des moindres, est celui de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Et c&rsquo;est dans l&rsquo;objectif d&rsquo;\u00eatre le plus pr\u00e9cis sur le niveau de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une voiture qu&rsquo;a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 le <strong>test Euro NCAP<\/strong>. <strong>L&rsquo;Euro NCAP est un organisme Europ\u00e9en<\/strong> <strong>qui contr\u00f4le le niveau de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des v\u00e9hicules neufs ou r\u00e9cents en r\u00e9alisant ce que l&rsquo;on appelle des crash-tests<\/strong>. <strong>Cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1997<\/strong>, cet organisme a pour mission de r\u00e9aliser de nombreux tests destin\u00e9s \u00e0 v\u00e9rifier si un v\u00e9hicule est conforme aux normes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, ou non. <strong>Tous les deux ans<\/strong>, ces tests sont <strong>modifi\u00e9s ou am\u00e9lior\u00e9s<\/strong> afin de prendre en compte les changements et les nouveaut\u00e9s constat\u00e9s sur les nouveaux v\u00e9hicules. 2020 est une ann\u00e9e de changements, et voici les modifications qui seront op\u00e9r\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<h2>Mise \u00e0 jour des crash-tests Euro NCAP<\/h2>\n<h3>Le mur fixe devient une barri\u00e8re en mouvement<\/h3>\n<p>Des modifications sont apport\u00e9es cette ann\u00e9e aux tests afin de garantir un r\u00e9sultat qui soit le plus optimal par rapport au niveau de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du v\u00e9hicule. Pour ce faire, l&rsquo;exercice habituel o\u00f9 ce dernier est projet\u00e9 \u00e0 64 km\/h contre un mur fixe est modifi\u00e9 : d\u00e9sormais, c&rsquo;est <strong>contre une barri\u00e8re en mouvement pesant 1400 kg (\u00e9quivalente \u00e0 un v\u00e9hicule) que la voiture sera test\u00e9e, \u00e0 50km\/h<\/strong>. L&rsquo;id\u00e9e est de <strong>prendre en compte les effets de l&rsquo;impact sur le conducteur, mais \u00e9galement sur l&rsquo;ensemble des passagers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Crash-tests lat\u00e9raux<\/h3>\n<p>Pour les crash-tests lat\u00e9raux, <strong>la vitesse et le poids de la barri\u00e8re lat\u00e9rale seront ajust\u00e9s<\/strong>, afin de faire l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience avec plusieurs donn\u00e9es pour obtenir des r\u00e9sultats plus justes.<\/p>\n<h3>Impact entre les passagers du v\u00e9hicule<\/h3>\n<p>Les v\u00e9hicules sont aujourd&rsquo;hui tous \u00e9quip\u00e9s d&rsquo;<strong>airbags<\/strong>, en nombre plus ou moins grand, et r\u00e9partis dans l&rsquo;ensemble du v\u00e9hicule. Mais pour les nouveaux contr\u00f4les, l&rsquo;organisme Euro NCAP va d\u00e9sormais prendre en compte l&rsquo;impact des passagers entre eux, les fa\u00e7ons dont ils peuvent se blesser. Une \u00e9valuation qui pourrait amener les constructeurs \u00e0 <strong>ajouter des airbags afin de prot\u00e9ger les passagers des \u00e9ventuels coups qu&rsquo;ils pourraient se donner entre eux<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Aides \u00e0 la conduite<\/h3>\n<p>Depuis quelques ann\u00e9es maintenant, pour s&rsquo;adapter aux nouvelles technologies des voitures, les contr\u00f4leurs ont d\u00fb ajouter, \u00e0 la liste des tests \u00e0 effectuer, des \u00e9valuations portant sur les aides \u00e0 la conduite. <strong>Du freinage d&rsquo;urgence automatique \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide au maintien dans la voie, en passant par la d\u00e9tection de pi\u00e9tons<\/strong>, tout doit \u00eatre v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 afin de <strong>valider l&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 et prouver l&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat de ces technologies dans les v\u00e9hicules<\/strong>. Pour cette ann\u00e9e 2020, le <strong>contr\u00f4le de l&rsquo;alerte attention conducteur<\/strong>, qui \u00e9value notamment l&rsquo;\u00e9tat de fatigue du conducteur, sera effectu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Point important sur lequel les constructeurs pourront se d\u00e9partager : les services de secours. Depuis le mois d&rsquo;<strong>avril 2018<\/strong>, les v\u00e9hicules doivent \u00eatre \u00e9quip\u00e9s d&rsquo;un <strong>syst\u00e8me d&rsquo;appel d&rsquo;urgence <\/strong>afin d&rsquo;alerter automatiquement les secours en cas d&rsquo;accident. Ceux dont le syst\u00e8me apportera des pr\u00e9cisions comme le <strong>type de collision et la gravit\u00e9 <\/strong>seront r\u00e9compens\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<h3>SUV contre citadine<\/h3>\n<p>Enfin un test de compatibilit\u00e9 sera r\u00e9alis\u00e9 : si les SUV ou v\u00e9hicules aux gabarits assez volumineux sont relativement prot\u00e9g\u00e9s lors des impacts, ils peuvent s&rsquo;av\u00e9rer tr\u00e8s dangereux lorsqu&rsquo;ils percutent une voiture comme une citadine. \u201cDans le nouveau test de compatibilit\u00e9, <strong>si le v\u00e9hicule plus grand est trop rigide pour un sc\u00e9nario d&rsquo;impact, il sera p\u00e9nalis\u00e9 en cons\u00e9quence<\/strong>\u201d, explique Matthew Avery, membre du conseil d&rsquo;administration de l&rsquo;Euro NCAP.<\/p>\n<h2>Fiabilit\u00e9 des tests d&rsquo;Euro NCAP<\/h2>\n<p>Aujourd&rsquo;hui, <strong>une grande majorit\u00e9 de v\u00e9hicules ont \u00e9t\u00e9 soumis aux essais r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par Euro NCAP<\/strong>. Certains sont directement fournis par le constructeur lui-m\u00eame, quand celui-ci souhaite faire \u00e9valuer son mod\u00e8le. Dans le cas contraire, l&rsquo;organisme Europ\u00e9en peut se procurer lui-m\u00eame un v\u00e9hicule (anonymement) aupr\u00e8s d&rsquo;un constructeur pour le tester. Plusieurs cat\u00e9gories sont \u00e9valu\u00e9es : <strong>protection des occupants adultes, protection des occupants enfants, protection des pi\u00e9tons et aides \u00e0 la conduite. La note maximale est de 5 \u00e9toiles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>En <strong>1997, la Volvo S40<\/strong> a \u00e9t\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re voiture \u00e0 obtenir <strong>4 \u00e9toiles<\/strong> pour la protection d&rsquo;occupants.
